How much is a used violin worth?

It is in good shape, and I am trying to sell it.

How much is a used violin worth?classical music

nothing unless it's in good shape

How much is a used violin worth?ms stress opera theater

if in good condition, a couple hundred at least.
Depends on who made it. If it is a factory made, such as Franz Hoffman, it's probably worth a few hundred. But if it is handmade, from a good luthier, then it could be worth a few thousand. Mine is "used" and it's worth $2,500...I was not the first owner of the instrument, but it is a very nice instrument.
Get is appraised for one. Then, take that price and go down $200. Put it up on eBay and then set the reserve for the appraisal price. Boom. You'll get bids and then you'll get a guarenteed amount minimal.
It depends on what kind it is.
It depends on the size (3/4, 4/4, etc.) and who the maker is. I have two violins, both 4/4, but one is worth $600 and the other $1200. Look inside the violin for the maker and then do a little research so you get the best price for it. Now is a good time to sell because kids are going back to school and are in need of orchestra instruments.
depends on who it beolnded to and how old ot is and what kinda shape its in
I really suggest taking it to a dealer for appraisal.

It could be worth pennies or hundreds of dollars.
Hard to say. I'm sure it depends on the name or where and when it was made, etc.

If its your only one I'd think twice before you get rid of it. I sold mine and regretted it about a year later. It was 6yrs before I got another one.

One source would be your local high school. Someone in the music department might be up to date. Also, they may have students who's parents may be interested. It's the right time of year too!
About $60
it depends on the type of violin. take it to a music store. they usually buy used instruments. if you need to, take it to 2-3 places to get a fair appraisal.
It is really impossible to tell from the info you give.. There are numerous factors, including age, maker, and quality, that influence the worth of a violin. It could range anywhere from a few hundred dollars to millions (if you have an original stradivarius). My advice is to take it to a music store and see how much they will pay you for it, then use that as a basis for the price you want to sell it for.
Dear, take it to the music shop and have it appraised.......If you go to a small town one they are usually fair and honest about appraisal.....Or you can look it up online.......Take care, dear.....
Be more descriptive and try ebay or the like. Yahoo Answers is probably not where something will sell.
idk 2 or 3 thousand?
A cheap violin is probably only worth a fiddle dee dee. A Stradivarius is probably priceless.
I'd say you could get three hundred easy.
we can't tell without knowing the brand and provenance of the violin. A Chinese knockoff is worth 10 bucks... a vintage Italian one is worth millions.
probally about $150
