It will if you want to become a member of the Air Force Band. You can also go Enlisted, the promotion rates are crazy fast.

edit: you also have to do good in school, volunteer and get accepted.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Do Something Amazing!

Think the "whole person concept"

Besides being a virtuoso at the Violin, do you have EXCELLENT grades? Top-notch SAT/ACT score? Lettered in sport? Top 10% of your school in athletics? Volunteered your time during school-a old folks home or Special Olympics-or had a job with a responsiblity beyond your years like being a shop foreman or assistant manager at a department store.

An expertise in one area isn't a big deal; the service schools need cadets who are "well rounded": I have seen Olympic athletes get refused from the acaemy because all the could do was track and field (at the Olympics-who cares.....)

It won't hurt!
not without stellar grades, participation in at least one sport and extracurricular activities to go along with it.
it might help, cuz it will show how your determined and you like to stick with what your doing

Good Luck
It won't help you, but it won't hurt you either. Go for it. Become an officer, join the USAF Tops in Blue. You'll get to travel to all the bases and perform for the Airmen. It is very helpful to unit morale. Enlisted doesn't promote that high, and being an officer pays much better. You'll be serving your country in a worth while way. Aim High!
