Probably because it doesn't have any rosin on the bow. Brand new bows have to have a LOT of rosin before they'll "catch" the strings and produce a sound.

yea i have a violin and you deff need resin. also make sure you dont touch the bow strings because the oil from your fingers really screwes it up and you'll need to get it restrung.

since it's new, she has to apply resin on it.



apply it manyy times because it's brand new.



but after a while, you just need to apply a few times before playing.
Does your bow have strings?



Come on now even without resin it still will make a noise. Just not a nice one.
Try using some resin on the bow strings. otherwise, i have no idea. Sorry.
